TRIUMPH ANNOUNCES XC VERSION OF AWARD WINNING TIGER EXPLORER

Triumph Motorcycles increases its range in the Adventure Touring market with the launch of the new Tiger Explorer XC. With a nod to the styling cues of the award winning Tiger 800 XC, the new Tiger Explorer XC gains a number of enhancements to further enhance its long haul adventure touring appeal.

Key to the rugged look of the XC are the new aluminium rimmed, steel spoked wheels. Maintaining the 19” front and 17” rear of the Explorer, the new Triumph designed spoked wheels retain the Explorer’s incredible dynamic handling providing the additional benefit of tubeless tyres. If mid adventure you find yourself suffering with a flat tyre the experience can soon turn into an adventure of a different kind! Triumph’s tubeless rims ensure this will not be the case and allow you to quickly resume your explorations without the need for an extensive tool kit or experienced tyre fitters.

The adventure look is further enhanced with the standard fit of some additional features, designed to increase comfort and confidence to any adventure. The high impact Adventure Hand Guards offer warmth and protection to hands and controls, whilst the high performance 55w Dual Fog Lights deliver increased visibility for those late rides. Tough 22mm steel tube engine bars and a heavy gauge aluminium Belly Guard combine to offer maximum protection when the going gets more challenging. For riders wishing to further tailor their XC, there is a further range of 54 additional Genuine Triumph Accessories to choose from.

The Tiger Explorer XC is powered by Triumph’s shaft-driven 1215cc triple. Producing 137ps with 121Nm of torque the engine continues to impress. Add into the equation cruise and traction control, switchable ABS and a virtually maintenance free shaft drive, you have the perfect combination for long distance adventure touring. All confidently backed up by a 10,000 mile service interval and unlimited mileage two-year warranty.

Available in Khaki Green, the XC made its UK debut during Triumph Live, the World’s largest celebration of all things Triumph, held at Mallory Park this past weekend. The Triumph Tiger Explorer XC’s international debut will follow at Intermot, Cologne, on 2 October, 2012. Test rides at Triumph dealerships will be available in early March 2013.

ομορφο το explorer, ακόμα πιο όμορφο το xc χάρη σε μικροδιαφορές...

ένα πράγμα όμως... για να λέγεσαι explorer πρέπει να έχεις αυτονομία.
και εδώ η triumph δεν εκμεταλλεύτηκε τον όγκο της μηχανής να φτιάξει
ένα μεγαλύτερο ντεπόζιτο...

ναι οκ, ας μην μπεμβεδίζουμε συνέχεια, αλλά το gs με 33 λίτρα, πάει
πιο μακρυά για exploring χωρίς άγχος για ανεφοδιασμό...

ενυγουει... αναμένω να το δω από κοντά...

Το απλό GS έχει το ίδιο ρεζερβουάρ με το XC δηλαδή 20 λίτρα. Δε τα λες και λίγα. Μπροστά στα 33 του GS Adventure ναι είναι λίγα αλλά ανεβαίνουμε σε λεφτά και το Adventure είναι μία κατηγορία μόνο του.
Το 1200 XC συνεχίζει να συναγωνίζεται το απλό το BMW GS 1200 (έχει επιλογή για ζάντες με ακτίνες ή χωρίς) όχι τόσο το Adventure.
Υπάρχει και το KTM βέβαια. Θα ανανεωθεί μέσα στο 2013 με νέο μοτέρ 1190 (από RC8) και θα βγαίνει σε δύο εκδόσεις Adventure και Adventure R. Η δεύτερη θα είναι η πιο χωμάτινη με (21 μπροστά-18 πίσω ζάντα) και απευθύνεται σε αναβάτες με περισσότερες εκτός δρόμου ανυσηχίες.

Φίλε μου σωστές οι πληροφορίες σου απλώς παραθέτω μια άποψη : το GS Adventure είναι μια κατηγορία μόνο του γιατι είναι το πιο ΔΗΘΕΝ μηχανάκι που κατασκευαστηκε ποτέ και εξηγώ 1) είναι πανάκριβο (μαζί με τα extra που αν τολμήσεις να μη τα βάλεις σε κοιτανε στην ΒΜW σαν βλάχο) η τιμή φτάνει τα 22.000Ε !!!!, 2) ενώ το απλό GS είναι καλοσχεδιασμένο το Adventure είναι υπερβολικά ογκώδες 3)είναι πολύ βαρύ, κάπου στα 270Kg άδειο, 4) με 100HP τροχό και τέτοιο βάρος δεν είναι ανταγωνιστικό σε επιδόσεις, το TIGER 1050 το προσπερνάει εύκολα σε οποιοδήποτε φάσμα στροφων και ταχύτητας (απο προσωπική εμπειρία) και ταυτόχρονα κυκλοφορεί ευρέως και πολλές φορές απο άτομα με κοστούμι και σκαρπίνι , αρκεί να αφιερώσετε μια μέρα και να μετρήσετε σε κεντρικό δρόμο πόσα κυκλοφορούν.
Συνοψίζω οτι εαν υποθέσουμε οτι με το Tiger1050 δεν μπορεί να συγκριθεί (και σε τίποτα) λόγω διαφορετικού χαρακτήρα, το Tiger1200 θα είναι κλάσεις ανώτερο σε οποιαδήποτε σύγκριση εκτός βέβαια απο το ΔΗΘΕΝ του πράγματος!!!

Σε αυτά που λες συμφωνώ όμως άλλο λέγαμε και αλλού καταλήξαμε.
Επείδη ο stam ανέφερε πως είναι λίγο το 20άρι ντεπόζιτο του Explorer σε σχέση με το GS, διευκρίνησα ότι μόνο το GS Adventure έχει 33άρι που είναι μια κατηγορία από μόνο του. Τώρα αν είναι καλό ή κακό αυτό δε το σχολίασα ούτε πήρα θέση.
