Τι να πω... Κρίμα
WSS: McCoy ‘shocked’ by Triumph reversal

Garry McCoy has expressed his 'absolute shock' at being dropped from Triumph's factory line-up ahead of the 2010 World Supersport season, just weeks after being confirmed as one of its riders.
BE1 Triumph originally announced that the former MotoGP rider would start his third season with the British manufacturer this year, alongside Chaz Davies, but developments since then have seen the team expand to four bikes, none of which are for McCoy.
A surprise move by the team, particularly as McCoy helped them make substantial strides in 2009, scoring podiums at Donington Park and Portimao, even the Australian admits he didn't see it coming.
“I am absolutely shocked,” he said on his personal website. “Shocked to say how this has ended, after all of last years achievements. This was going to be my third year with Triumph and amongst everything; it was going to be the greatest season for each and every person who has bet on Triumph's project.
“I had found a home with Triumph and I have been fully investing myself since 2008 in the development of the bike.”
The last-minute nature of the decision is demonstrated by the fact McCoy's suit is already in Portugal in preparation for the first Supersport test of the season. Furthermore, McCoy was as recently as 15th January still a contracted Triumph rider having been called upon to test the manufacturer's one-make series machine, the Street Triple R.
Naturally, the last-minute nature of the decision has left McCoy chasing limited options on the WSS grid, but he is determined to bounce back
“At this stage of the season the damage caused is incalculable and I am not talking about economic terms. I am talking about one's illusion, about goals in life, about achievements.
“I started racing in World Championship in 1992. My goal is as simple as keep on racing and entertaining all the fans that believe in my work.
“Despite the rumours that have been spread through various online sources about my economic requests, I invite whomever wants to get the correct information. My loyalty to Triumph will prevail.”
In its official press releases, Triumph claimed McCoy had left by mutual consent, with team manager Gianluca Rovelli stating:
"I'm very sorry that Garry McCoy and my Team didn't reach an agreement, and I thank him for his determination and expertise, and for the good results achieved in 2009. I do wish Garry all the best for his career in the next future."
Davies will now be joined in the ParkinGO Triumph team by Jason DiSalvo, David Salom and double Supersport champion Sebastien Charpentier.
